A Boards in Andover

Date: 8th April, 2015

You may be aware that Hampshire County Council is taking positive action to pilot the County's first licensing scheme for A-Boards, in Andover town centre.

If you are a Trader in Andover, you are invited to apply for an A-Board licence.
The scheme is open for applications from 1st to 30th April 2015.
Thereafter Hampshire County Council is legally required to display a public notice giving one month for interested parties to make representations against an application. The notice will be issued on or around 1st May following which, and subject to the terms and conditions, your licence can be issued early-mid June. This will run until 31st March 2016. The new licensing scheme aims to ensure pavements remain safe and accessible for all whilst also recognising and supporting the needs of local businesses.
Applicants will need to separately ensure that they have obtained any other statutory approval that may be required, such as advertising consent from Test Valley Borough Council.
The Borough Council are currently considering an application for a limited area advertising consent to coincide with the pilot licensing scheme within the town centre.
More details on this are available from the Borough Council directly.

Businesses can apply for an A-Board licence from Hampshire County Council, which will require a £50 fee to cover the costs of operating the scheme, by either downloading the application form and terms and conditions via the following link: www.hants.gov.uk/aboardpilot or by contacting Town Centre Manager, Chris Gregory, who will be able to provide an electronic or hard copy - telephone number 07854027080 or email: chris@heartflood.co.uk.
