Last year, Andover Town Council took the decision to develop a Design Statement for the Andover Conservation Area, with the ultimate aim of the Design Statement being adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document by Test Valley Borough Council. This will enable Andover Town Council to set Design Standards to ensure new development within the Conservation Area is both consistent and appropriate to the character of the Conservation Area, and Andover maintains an attractive and desirable Town Centre with a unique identity. Consultants Portus and Whitton were engaged to develop the draft Design Statement, which is now ready for its first six-week public consultation from Friday 15th January to Friday 26th February. Residents, businesses and other interested bodies are now invited to read and forward any comments they have on the draft Design Statement, by no later than Friday 26th February. The draft Design Statement can be found here and the comment form here . If you are interested in commenting please email your completed comment form to ATCconsult@andovertc.co.uk.
