Tackling Roadside litter

Date: 30th April, 2014

Test Valley Borough Council is tackling roadside rubbish this spring with the help of its handy car litter bags!

Councillor Graham Stallard, Environmental Portfolio Holder, said: “Not only is clearing roadside litter expensive and dangerous, it can also lead to safety hazards for other road users and poses a threat to wildlife and blocks drains, which can cause flooding. Our message to all road users is to take your litter home with you. To help, we have produced 10,000 car litter bags which are being been distributed across the borough.”

Car litter bags can be collected from Andover Town Council Office, 66C High Street as well as being found in local petrol and service stations and local busisinesses.
