Remembrance Day – 11th November 2018
Exactly 100 years on since Armistice Day, Andover did itself proud be holding various commemorative events across the town to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice.
Andover Town Mayor, Cllr Barbara Long joined other dignitaries of Andover Town for the church service at St Mary’s followed by the laying of wreaths at the Cenotaph in the grounds of the church.
Cllr Long attended the lunch at the Guildhall before joining both serving and ex-serving at the Andover Branch of The Royal British Legion.
Cllr Long and Andover Town Deputy Mayor, Cllr Michael Mumford were made very welcome at RBL Branch and enjoyed some celebrity moments by being photographed with some veterans from the Gurkha Regiment.
