The Best kept plot was judged by Mr M Cantillon, the Southern Region Representative of the National Allotment Society.
The standard of some of the Best Kept Plot entries had been very high, and it had been difficult to decide on a winner.
It was clear to the judge and Council officers that not only do some tenants take a great deal of care of their plots, and benefit from an amazing amount of produce, but they have also created small personal spaces within the allotment sites where they enjoy being outside and cultivating vegetables and flowers of their choice. Viewing all the entries had been a very enjoyable task.
Councillor K Hughes, reminded everyone present that he competitions are held annually, and that it was so encouraging to see tenants taking part and obviously enjoying using their allotments.
