Thermal Imaging Workshop

Date: 22nd October, 2021

Test Valley Borough Council is running a Thermal Imaging Workshop on Thursday, 4 November 2021 at 7.00pm, in partnership with the Schools Energy Project and West Solent Solar Cooperative. The event will demonstrate how to use a thermal imaging camera to survey the heat loss in your own home or community building. This is a free workshop for town and village parish councils, community groups and local residents.

A thermal-imaging camera is an amazing device as it can see the temperature of everything. It’s able to show where heat is escaping from homes and buildings. Often the camera reveals that heat is leaking out through draughty windows or badly-fitting doors, or through a roof without enough insulation. By tackling these problems, you can make your home warmer and achieve significant savings on your winter heating bills.

Come and have a go at using a thermal imaging camera yourself at this workshop. You will find out how to use the camera and how to survey your home or community building.

After this session, you will be able to arrange for a thermal imaging survey of the outside of your home or community building to be done. If you wish, you will be able to hire one of the cameras, to survey your home or building internally. Ongoing support will be available to ensure you get the most out of this opportunity. It may be possible to help identify areas to reduce your heating bills this winter, or to evidence issues in support of possible grants bids to address energy efficiency in community buildings.
