Sickness and Absence Management Policy

Andover Town Council (ATC) aims to secure the attendance of all its employees throughout the working week in order to maintain high levels of customer care, service provision, safety and security.

Good levels of attendance are a critical success factor for ATC. Levels of attendance can be improved by both preventative measures such as health and well-being initiatives, together with the implementation of fair and consistent systems of monitoring and dealing promptly with cases where absence has reached unacceptable levels. Failure to take this seriously affects the Council’s overall level of efficiency and imposes additional workload on other colleagues.
