On Friday, 15 August 2025, the Town Mayor, Councillor Heather Neate, attended the VJ Day service at St Mary’s Church.
Councillor Edward Reynolds and Councillor John Cockaday were also present at the service.
The Mayor, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Test Valley Borough Council and a representative of the Royal British Legion, laid a wreath in remembrance of the day Japan surrendered, marking the end of the Second World War.
